On the evening of February 17, US time, the Zhejiang Conservatory of Music completed its "Happy New Year" tour in the United States after the final performance in Memphis University. The performances were composed of national instrumental music, Shaoxing opera, Zhejiang folk songs and pop songs, which has been designed to spread the traditional Chinese music culture, expand the influence of Chinese culture, and let the American people experience the strong Chinese flavor.In just a few days, the team traveled nearly 1,000 kilometers across the two major states of the United States, presenting three high-quality national instrumental performances for American audiences and overseas compatriots, which were well received. The "Happy New Year" tour was organized by the Confucius Institute headquarters, and undertaken by Zhejiang Conservatory of Music in conjunction with the Confucius Institutes of University of Sikentaki, Middle Tennessee State University, Memphis University.

On the morning of February 15, local time and Lunar New Year's Eve at Beijing time, 17 teachers and students of the team staged their first performance at Meade High School Concert Hall, Kentucky, USA, which received a warm welcome from teachers and students.The performance kicked off in the Chinese folk music, the Dragon and the Tiger Leap.It is a classic Chinese music of gongs and drums, the theme of which is based on the tone of the gongs and drums of Dragon Head and Dragon Tail in eastern Zhejiang Province.In the long paragraph of drum group performance, various combinations of timbre and rhythm of different drums, through enthusiastic performance, have rendered magnificent mass jubilation scenes; The winner of the Chinese plum blossom prize, teacher Chen Xiaohong of the drama department of Zhejiang Conservatory of Music, and the National Music Chamber Orchestra, jointly performed the Shaoxing Opera The Story of West Garden -Boudoir Oathwith the local characteristics of Zhejiang; Young Guzheng player, winner of the Golden Bell Award, Liu Le, from the Department of National Music, Zhejiang Conservatory of Music acted as a guide and master of English, to show his ability on the other side;Jinyao, a teacher of vocal music and opera department of Zhejiang Conservatory of Music, and the National Music Chamber Orchestra jointly performed Zhejiang local folk song Tea picking Dance;Teacher Yang Lei of the National Music Department, Han Huihui, performed Sheng Solo of The Merry Song of Ah Shi and Bamboo Flute Solo of Three Five Seven.In addition, the National Music Chamber Orchestra of Zhejiang Conservatory of Music has played Dunhuang New language and Happy Night and etc..Every action in front of the light and every note on the stage, intertwined into the melodies to spread and carry forward the Chinese traditional music culture in the beautiful melody.The full mood and expression of every actor changed with the style of each work. Chinese folk music sparkles brightly when it collides with other countries. After the concert, the audience refused to leave for a long time and applause broke out.The lingering sound of drums and gongs and strings clanging reverberated above the concert hall for a long time. Chinese red in the central United States ushered in the new year's eve of Wuxu, beautiful and moving.

 On the morning of February 16, local time in the United States, the first night of the Chinese New year, after the Kentucky show, the team headed to Middle Tennessee State University for its second show in the United States.Before the performance began, accompanied by Professor Han Mei, Director of the Chinese Music Culture Center of Middle Tennessee State University, members of the team visited the Chinese Music Culture Center, the Popular Music Center, the Library of the University and other facilities.The Center for Chinese Music Culture at Middle Tennessee State University is the only center of Chinese music culture in North America so far.The Centre aims to promote cultural exchange and mutual understanding and share the long history, bright and profound Chinese music culture through various forms like music activities, teaching and experience with the local, regional and global communities.Since it was founded in the fall of 2016, in this 3,200-square-foot Center, the teachers of the Center have been spreading and popularizing Chinese traditional music culture to people from different parts of the world in the musical instrument exhibition hall, the book reading hall, the multifunction hall and the rehearsal hall.Subsequently, the school leaders, including Mark Byrnes, Provost of Middle Tennessee State University, David Schmidt, Deputy Provost for International Affairs, Karen Petersen, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Mike Parkinson, Dean of the Conservatory of Music, and Professor Zheng Guanping, Dean of the Confucius Institute, held a cordial meeting with the team members. Provost Mark Byrnes personally presented the team with a special medal in honor of the Zhejiang Conservatory of Music at Middle Tennessee State University and highly appreciated the team members.The second performance kicked off that night at Hinton Concert Hall, Middle Tennessee State University.Dean Mark Byrnes personally, "Mr. Muxin's poems told the simplicity and romance of a period of time under the singing of Ye Xuanqing from pop music department. At the time of the New Year at home, the team was far away from home, Young teachers of vocal music and opera, Xie Benkang and Jin Yao, together with Ye Xuanqing, sang My Motherland and Me. In the song, "I am connected with the motherland" and cannot be separated for a moment is the voice of every member of the team at this time.In the lyrics, China state university is the relationship between children and their mother, while "my motherland and me" is the relationship between the sea and the waves.Between the emotion and cause, the mother and son sentimentally attached to is expressed; for emotional evidence, we feel the support, worries and happiness of the sea and waves. The basis of music is the eternal relationship, but also everlasting emotion.The team gave a special New year's greeting to the American people with a wonderful performance of traditional Chinese music.To understand and comprehend China is the need of world development and the need for Chinese culture to be established and developed in the world. This kind of cognition is gaining more and more international recognition. 

On February 17 of local time in the United States, the team drove 300 kilometers to Memphis to give a special performance, home of singer Elvis Presley, home of American blues music. The team was highly valued and warmly welcomed by the Confucius Institute at Memphis University. Professor Kong Xiangde, Dean of Confucius Institute, came to the rehearsal scene in person to help coordinate related matters. That night, the team brought Memphis fans a unique performance of Chinese music. The opening stage of the Dragon and Tiger Leap was greeted with cheers and applause from the audience, and later the program made the audience always marvel at it.After the performance, the audience burst into thunderous applause. Many foreign audiences could hardly hide their inner excitement and rush to the stage to take a picture with the actors, and one after another asked to test the Chinese national musical instruments and experience the charm of Chinese music.

During the tour, every performance was loved by the audience, from the American children who had learned to babble to the Chinese people who had lived in the United States for many years, everyone was deeply impressed by the traditional Chinese music culture. "All of a sudden, the musical sound has ended, and the elegant rhyme has been quiet". The dazzling cultural halo moved from the land of Divine Land to the other side of the ocean. In international convergence, music players and fans from all over the worlduse different languages, interpret different music, showing the cultural confidence of "each flower has its own beauty".The "Happy New Year" tour of Zhejiang Conservatory of Music plays an active role in spreading the history and culture of thousands of years and reshaping the ancient culture.
